Superstar Rajinikanth shoots for Bear Grylls Into The Wild show on Discovery

Ranveer Singh, Kamal Haasan, Kapil Dev at 83 The Film First Poster Launch in Chennai!

Ranveer Singh who plays Kapil Dev was accompanied by all the actors who play cricketers, including Kollywood actor Jiiva who plays K Srikanth. The film tells the inspiring story of the 1983 win of the cricket World Cup by Kapil Dev and his team. The chief guest was Kamal Haasan who was accompanied by ace cricketers Kapil Dev and K Srikanth, who regaled  the audiences with anecdotes of their cricketing days and the experience of winning the World Cup. Ranveer Singh introduced his entire team of actors and was overwhelmed by the frenzied response of Chennai fans to his presence in the city, which he revealed was his first. Psycho ticks all the boxes this time too. But how does it work overall? Udayanidhi Stalin plays Gauthaman, a visually impaired, musician who falls for an RJ, Dhahini ( Aditya Rao Hydari). But in a twist of fate, while waiting for him on a lonely train station late at night, ( as an indirect result of his stalking her to convince her of his love) she is kidnapped by a psychopath who has beheaded more than a dozen women. Vaibhav plays a man afflicted by a malady affecting his vocal cords. Wherever he gets emotional or angry, his voice turns feminine. Due to this, he is rebufffed by a corrupt cop from getting entry into the police force. This affects his dad ( Pandiarajan) who comes from a line of brave police officers, celebrated for generations in the village. He is determined to get his son into the police force for the sake of family honor. In the meanwhile, the cop within the dejected Vaibhav comes to the fore as he runs into a data sharing racket leading to mysterious deaths. Does he solve the crimes? Does he overcome his affliction? Cheran plays an alcoholic cop, affected by a malady known as the Sleeping Beauty syndrome where he can fall asleep suddenly and for undeteremined periods. This affects his marital life, with divorce proceedings turning bitter and running into 10 years. In the final hearing, he tells the judge that he is willing to grant divorce if his wife allows his 17 year old daughter to stay with him for 10 days prior to leaving for the US for higher studies. When she comes over, all goes well, till she is kidnapped by a man who she introduces as her boyfriend via a video recording ( Irfan in a convincing performance). But unbeknownst to her, the boyfriend and his 3 friends have trapped her, as revenge for a previous arrest Cheran had got them into. Now, the villains subject Cheran to a cat ...

Grand Audio and Trailer launch of Vaanam Kottatum held

By Rinku Gupta The grand audio and trailer launch of Mani Ratnam's Madras Talkies' Vaanam Kottatum was held  in Chennai. The cast and crew were present which included Rajiv Menon, director Dhana, costumer Eka Lakhani, actors Vikram Prabhu, Aishwarya Rajesh, Balaji Shaktivel, Shanthnu Bhagyaraj, Radhika, Sarathkumar, Amitash Pradhan, Madonna Sebastien and music director Sid Sriram who now debuts as a composer. Sid sang a few of the tracks live along with Antony Dasan, in a well conducted event, with brief interactions with the actors on stage, before the audio was launched with the entire team on stage. The function did away with long drawn out speeches and there were no special guests on the dais, as is the norm in Kollywood. Sarathkumar plays Radhika's screen husband while Aishwarya plays Vikram Prabhu's sister. Also spotted at the event were Dushyanth, Ujjaini Vikram, Poornima Bhagyaraj and Charu Haasan

Directed by debutant KR Vinoth, the film has action by Supreme Sundar and Krav Maga Sriram. The story is around a girl getting caught up in a forest and how she escapes. The film is produced by Century Films International and released by SDC Pictures. This is the debut effort of a young team. Santhakumar debuts as DOP after working with George C Williams. The team worked under difficult situations while shooting in a forest. Krav Maga Sriram said at the trailer release" Krav Maga is an Israeli street fight . Amala runs 5 kms everyday,  has a gym at home in Kerala and has clean eating habits. Amala is a fast learner and a risk taker. She has done an amazing job. STR's Maanadu heroine is Kalyani Priyadarshan, cast, crew, announced

The film,  directed by Venkat Prabhu features Simbu with Kalyani Priyadashan opposite him.  Bharathi Raja, Karunkaran, SA Chandrasekar and Premgi Amaren are part of the cast. The DOP is Richard M Nathanwhile Rajeevan handles art direction. Praveen KL is the editor Kamatchi revealed in a series of well designed posters on Twitter. Stunt Silva will handle the action while  Vasuki Bhaskar will handle the costumes department. Yuvan Shankar Raja is handling the music and the buzz around the film just got bigger with an A team of technicians joining the list. This is Kalyani's next Tamil film post Hero. Simbu is reportedly on a weight loss spree. His next release is Maha.
