In immediate  response to the devastating scenario in Kerala due to heavy floods, Actors Suriya and Karthi have come forward to contribute a total sum of Rs. 25,00,000 to Kerala Chief Minister Distress Relief Fund. The Kerala state has always been a special place for both Suriya and Karthi. To see such a heavenly place to be bounded to an unbearable calamity, it’s definitely going to be a solace for the people out there in God’s Own Country.

The film is the launch pad of veteran actor Thambi Ramaiah's son  Umapathi Ramaiah and is directed  by the veteran actor himself. Ghajinikanth is the Tamil remake of the Telugu, Nani starrer, Bale Bale Magadivoy, a comic caper. However, now,  the makers have announced that the second and final European schedule is now complete. Featuring Kajal Aggarwal, Tamannah Bhatia, Parul Yadav and Manjima Mohan in the lead roles the 4 movies are expected to release this October. Titled Paris Paris, Butterfly, ZamZam and That Is Mahalkshmi and directed by Ramesh Aravind (Tamil & Kannada), Neelakanta (Malayalam) and Prasanth Varma (Telugu) the films feature music by Amit Trivedi. Press Note: Jyotika, the protagonist of the Tamil film Kaatrin Mozhi completed the film in a start to finish single schedule. The film commenced shooting on 4 th June and went on without a break and she completed her portions on July 25, 2018. The film is a remake of the super hit Tumhari Sulu in Hindi, which starred National Award winning actress Vidya Balan. Writer-Director Radhamohan, with whom Jyotika gave a super hit Mozhi a decade ago,  has tweaked the story a bit to suit South Indian sensibilities.The film is a romantic comedy starring Jyotika, Vidhaarth, Lakshmi Manchu, Kumaravel, M.S.Bhaskar, Manobala, Uma Padmanabhan, Mohan Raman and many others. This could be one of the major reasons why the film has appealed to people in such large numbers. ( Recently in one theatre screening the film, fresh  coconut water was sold alongside other refreshments, in keeping with the spirit of the film perhaps! ) For instance, in several frames when you see a woman  character in the film, she is  engaged in farming activity of some sort, which is not usually seen our films.
