Based on the novel Vekkai by Poomani, the story ( without spoilers, in brief) revolves around a docile middle- aged man Sivasamy ( Dhanush in a terrific performance, with a back story) and his wife ( Manju Warrier) and 2 sons , the fiery Murugan ( Teejay Arunasalam debuts) and teenager Chidambaram (  wonderful performance by Karunas' son Ken). The family manages to get on the wrong side of the greedy village big- wig Narasimhan ( Naren) and a revenge murder ensues after Murugan gets killed. All this leads to the family taking to thier heels to get away from the backlash that follows. Do they succeed in getting away? What is Sivasamy's backstory that makes him so docile now? Catherine plays a girl who cannot hear.  According to Siddharth, the main reason he was drawn to the film was the theme." The film is about the adulteration we have in food these days. One doesn't know what one is actually consuming, " he said. After playing a traffic cop in SMP , yhe actor plays a food safety officer in Aruvam. " But the film is a complete commercial entertainer and there are 5 major fight sequences with Kabir Singh. My character is prone to anger and I could relate to him because that is the one  thing we can do freely today. " The film is a commercial horror film with Madhusudan, Naren, Manobala, Mayilsamy, Nandhakumar and Sujatha. Directed by Sai Sekhar the film has music  by S Thaman while Ekambharam cranks the camera.

by Rinku Gupta 100 Percent Kadhal directed by MM Chandramouli has Balu Mahendra ( GV Prakash )playing a studious, possessive boy who soon starts get infatuated with his aththai ponnu Mahalaxmi ( Shalini Pandey). The cousin comes to the city to study and stays with his family. After several scenes of both being infatuated ( after several navel shots ) with each other,  the relationship sours when ego tussles begin and get bigger. Does true love win in the end? The film is a remake of a decade or so old Telugu film. By the  way the story, screenplay, dialogues and situations are created and treated,  the film gives out an out -dated feel. The situations seem comical quite unintentionally so and one finds it difficult to relate to them. Appukutty, Rekha, Thalaivasal Vijay, Jayachitra, Nasser, Manobala  and Thambi Ramaiah make up the cast. But nobody quite leaves any impact and the comedy  generates no laughs . This is the final leg of the shoot for this action film. Sharing the news, director Naveen says, “We will be shooting major sequences in this schedule, which involves some breathtaking action blocks as well. We were supposed to kick-start this second schedule by last month itself. However, we had to wait for the dates of all the artistes, who are very much busy with other projects. In addition, it demanded a long phase to scout the locations and we found the locales of Moscow and Saint Petersburg as the appropriate backdrop for what we had visualized. I thank producer T. The film with Karthi and ( Vijay Deverakonda's    Dear Comrade fame)   Rashmika Mandanna in the lead, is called Sulthan. The film is being shot in Chennai, Dindigul and its surrounding areas. A rumour spread that the film is based on Tipu Sultan and his life.  So, as the film was nearing completion, protestors landed up on location at Malaikottai, near Dindugal and tried to  disrupt the shoot on 24 September. As a result, the producers have strongly refuted such theories in a detailed  statement stressing that  the movie is tilted Suthan but has nothing to do with the life of Tipu Sultan. The production house felt deeply concerned about and condemned the current trend of  people taking offence on several issues, often for personal gains, and  thereby curbing  the freedom of filmmakers.
